Introducing:
Dr. Rob Nieders
A
native of Columbia, South Carolina, Dr. Rob Nieders grew up a close family
friend and patient of Dr. Cross. Dr. Nieders attended Wofford
College in Spartanburg, South Carolina and graduated Magna Cum Laude with
a BS in Biology. He enrolled in the College of Dental Medicine at the
Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), and was a classmate of Dr.
Jamie Cross Gomez. He graduated from MUSC receiving his Doctor of Dental
Medical degree in May 2002 with departmental honors awards in operative
dentistry and prosthodontics.
Dr. Nieders was also commissioned as Ensign in the United States Navy on a
four-year Health Professional Scholarship. The Navy moved Lieutenant
Nieders to Beaufort, South Carolina where he began an Advanced Education
in General Dentistry (AEGD) Residency. After Beaufort it was off to
Southern Spain, where he was assigned as a dental officer to United States
Naval Hospital, Rota, for a three-year tour and then deployed to Benin,
West Africa as part of a NATO-lead humanitarian mission in November 2004.
Dr. Nieders then enrolled in the Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program at
The Medical University of South Carolina in 2006.
He is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), American Academy
of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry
(SSPD) and the Medical University of South Carolina Dental Alumni
Association.
